ISHPI Awarded 10-year Health & Human Services Contract

Mount Pleasant, SC,ISHPI was awarded a prime contract on the Strategic Partners Acquisition Readiness Contract (SPARC) program. SPARC is a 10 year, $25 Billion multiple award Indefinite-Delivery Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services division (CMS).

ISHPI will provide strategic and technical guidance and support services to facilitate the modernization of CMS business processes and supporting information systems. These systems include the Federal Healthcare Exchange and Medicare/Medicaid information technology systems. Services acquired under the SPARC contract will include Requirements Engineering/Analysis, Systems Design, Systems/Software Engineering, Systems/Software Integration, Systems/Software Development, Systems/Software Testing and Independent Verification & Validation.

CMS is responsible for administering the Medicare program and, jointly with the State governments, the Medicaid program. Additionally, CMS also has the daunting task of implementing provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). CMS covers 100 million people through Medicare, Medicaid, the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Health Insurance Marketplace (i.e., the ACA)—almost one-third of the entire U.S. population. Other HHS Operating Divisions may also place orders under this contract.
