Washington, DC. –

On April 16, 2015, The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) presented Ishpi Information Technologies, Inc., (DBA ISHPI) with the Small Business Achievement Award at the 11th Annual Small Business Awards Ceremony in Washington DC. ISHPI was one of only two companies to receive this prestigious award in 2015 for their support for the United States Coast Guard.

The nomination for this award reads as follows:

ISHPI has shown tremendous professionalism and dedication in their support of the United States Coast Guard (USCG), Aviation Logistics Center (ALC).  ISHPI was instrumental in helping the USCG, ALC, Short Range Recovery (SRR) Division set up its first firm-fixed price contract for Aircraft Mechanic Services.  Since contract award, they have met or exceeded all contract deliverable schedules, have required minimal government oversight to accomplish tasks and have consistently demonstrated outstanding quality performance.

ISHPI was able to reduce the total number of hours it took to disassemble an aircraft by 29.62% (490.08 hours to 344.9 hours).  They reduced the average cost of disassembly by 32.38% ($18,069.25 per plane to $12,219.03). They have adapted to the USCG’s ever-changing mission schedule and are able to have employees available to work odd schedules to ensure the ALC is able to meet its compressed timelines.

Another separate and distinct contract effort whereby ISHPI has excelled includes providing comprehensive engineering services, configuration management, and training for the development and delivery of the Asset Logistics Managements Information System (ALMIS). ISHPI provides valuable training to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees, USCG Military and Government employees located throughout diverse and various USCG locations including Headquarters, Areas, Districts, Air Stations, Sectors, Groups, Units, and Cutters. This contract was completed during transformation of the USCG to a new business model. This required all training material to be completed (and continuously updated), a training plan to be established and the instructors to perform training on site throughout the United States with a very aggressive roll out timeline. As with any change to processes and procedures there was pushback from the user community. The contractor provided highly qualified instructors that were able to complete tasks in a rapidly changing environment. ISHPI excelled with not only keeping all training material up to date but by also being nimble and adapting to changes in training locations with less than 24 hours’ notice.
